Welcome back to another season of MudRatz sailing!
The offshore program is entering its second year! Please see more information about our start under Bluewater Sailing. Our program had tremendous success with a 1st in class for the 2018 Newport to Bermuda race and a second in class for the Marlblehead to Halifax race! Many of our sailors are getting offers for other big boat programs, and we consider our program an ideal place for kids to learn, have fun, and safely enter the world of offshore sailing. The cost to be part of this program is 100% put towards the shared upkeep of our boats. Coaches are 100% volunteers.
While we have no age limits – the team should be mostly 14 to 23 years old.

An annual membership with the Mudratz is required now to be part of our team.
What to expect and prepare your offshore sailors for next…
Our head coach will reach out to you to set up a work date to prep the boats for the season.
Boats, Gear, and Volunteers…
Please make sure sailors are dressed for sailing (drysuits, smocks, gloves, boots, hats) as we sail in ALL weather, rain, wind, snow, and sun. Please bring a snack and re-usable water bottle as well. Each season we see sailors become limited by the clothes they have… dress for success… you would not go onto the ball field without cleats!
Sailors should be ready to sail BY the start of practice each day, we are not paying coaches to get the boat ready, so you should plan to arrive early enough to be ready to sail on time.
Parents and sailors – Please ask how you can help… we are a volunteer team and there is always something that needs to be done each week. Thank you for being part of our team. We really hope to create a good experience for everyone!
MudRatz Mission statement: The mission of the MudRatz is to complement local youth sailing programs by enabling sailors to improve as a team and travel around the world.
