Wow… our kids from last season had a remarkable summer of sailing. We hope most of you plan to come back and learn some more this fall and spring. As you are on the current roster you will recieve prefrence for our limited spaces on this falls team. Please log into the TeamSnap site and go to your payments tab to pay and hold your spot. The Opti team will be limited to the first 30 members to pay.
The new 420 team has no limits at this point. Once sign up is done on August 23rd we will have more details about the schedule, coaches, and advice.

It’s time for fall sign-ups for the MudRatz! Be sure to read down about the NEW 420 MudRatz this fall! Space in both programs is limited so please reply quickly if you have an interested child, registration deadline will be Friday, August 23rd. To register please email Brandon Flack your child’s name and he will send back an invite link for you to sign up with.
Location: Niantic Bay YC
Time: Sundays @ 4pm – 7pm
Dates: September 8th through October 6th (five practices + one regatta)
Cost: $125 per child (+$25 uniform for new sailors)
Details: Each kid should have a race ready opti and have a sailing level competence of at least green fleet (meaning they have raced before). Boat can be stored for free at NBYC, and each boat should have a dolly for ramp launching. We will have carpooling from Mystic Marriot planned for each Sunday for eastern kids. Arrive at 2:45 with pick up at 7:30.
Location: NESS, Stonington CT
Time: Sunday’s from 3-6pm
Dates: Dates: September 8th through October 13th (six practices)
Cost: $125 per sailor (+$25 uniform for new sailors)
Boat Charter: If you do not own a 420, you can charter a very nice one from NESS for $125 per sailor (or $250 for the boat).
Boat Storage: If you bring your own 420 there is a $40 storage fee at NESS for the full MudRatz season.
Details: Our 420 goal is to learn more about what makes the 420 FUN and FAST. Practices will be geared around boat handling and boat speed. We can pair up skippers and crews based on availability or you can come as a team. Carpooling can be arranged for Western kids as needed.
MudRatz Mission Statement: We will provide a series of clinics for motivated junior sailors who want to develop and improve their sailing and racing skills. These clinics will provide a positive and fun environment where sailors will learn advanced techniques and strategies. Our goal is to complement the local sailing programs offered by the yacht clubs of the region, by enabling enthusiastic sailors to practice in the fall and next spring as well as travel as a team to regattas around the country.
